Anter - An Educational Game for Ant Researchers
Anter is an educational game developed by NCUE MELab for Android devices. The game is a part of a project funded by the Ministry of Science and Technology of Taiwan. The game was developed in collaboration with Professor Cheng Meng-Tzu and Professor Lin Tsung-Chi, both renowned ant researchers from National Changhua University of Education.
The game is designed to help students learn about the 26 species of ants found in Taiwan. Players can collect ants from various terrains and learn about their ecological habits and distribution areas. They can also identify the unique characteristics of each ant species through a process called "speciation." The game also allows players to cultivate ants by finding the best growth conditions and to battle against invasive red ants using their own ant army. The game aims to help students understand the scientific concepts related to ants and develop their scientific inquiry skills.
